These multiple choices allow for a ton of different combinations to fit your various mission needs. But there can be some snags and some gear is rarely, if ever, available. So while there are a lot of choices for each piece, finding the piece you need can be extremely burdensome and can sour the customer experience fairly quickly The front plate carrier options include the OVERT plate carrier and the Over the Beach (OTB). The top of the front carrier uses Velcro straps with no quick disconnects. The lack of any quick disconnect would make this carrier particularly dangerous in any water scenario so I stuck with the OVERT plate bag. The OVERT bag has two rows of top molle that can be used for your personal devices if you’re looking to connect via ATAK or CivTAK (get these, they’re super fun). Also on the side is an area to connect up your push to talk or other comms devices. I set up my SomeWear labs here so I had both off-grid communication and off-grid ATAK team integration. The front bag also includes a hidden area underneath with swift clips and a channel that runs inside the carrier to hide all of your communication wiring. The rear plate bags include the OVERT, Over the Beach (OTB), and Covert. As the covert also really nothing and the OTB has some alarming safety concerns, I went with the OVERT. Along the back of the OVERT is a small segment that seems to be designed to add a drag handled later. But no drag handle is included nor offered for this carrier. (Huge concern number 2 for duty use). The rear of the bag also has one large segment of hook and a single stitched band of molle. There is no full rear molle panel. The full panel is sold separately and is the only way to get your OVERT rear bag to connect in most standard gear (MOLLE connections). On the rear back are also two zippers but the zipper design is proprietary and will not connect into any standard zipper system (CRYE, HRT, Grey Ghost Gear, TYR, etc). Moving onto the side cummerbund there are a variety of options and we settled on the tubes design to give some quick detach functionality to the carrier. The cummerbund offers no side plate bags and the side bag and cap have to both be purchased for both sides to accommodate side plates. To attach the cummerbund, you have to weave in and out a cord of bungee to keep the cummerbund held in place. Due to this design, you often have to weave and re-weave multiple times as you get the sizing correct to your body type. After we got all of the carrier together, we went into our tests of the LV119. Hopefully by seeing the Spiritus System LV119 in detail, you are more educated on your purchasing decision on if this is the right carrier for you.
