Every weekend, for more than a month, hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets to demand her resignation over a vast corruption and cronyism scandal. Park is suspected of helping her longtime friend, Choi Soon-sil, to accumulate millions of dollars in donations for the businesswoman’s foundations. Amid mounting public anger, Park has said she will resign. But she is leaving it to parliament to decide the timing of her exit. France 24 talked to some of the people demanding fresh elections to pick a new South Korean leader.
