High winds are forecast for the Firth of Clyde, so it is time for us to find a place to tuck away and hide for a few days. Our first attempt is on the Isle of Arran, but it proves to be untenable as the mooring field is tight for a 15m yacht. Next, we run up to check out another promising anchorage only to find the waters too deep and the water too exposed for the predicted winds. Now we are down our last potential spot, a small anchorage across the loch, off Barmore Island. Will this anchorage be large enough for Gargoyle and will it offer the much-needed protection from the winds that are forecast? Only time will tell if the sea gods favor us as the clock is quickly running out on us.
