Friday 3rd September 2021 16:30 (BST) / 17:30 (CEST): A World of Color We kick off the new season of Light Bytes events with a deep dive into the fascinating world of color and color control. The introduction of LED lighting has seen a huge shift in the way that we work with light, the way that we design and program and the way that we need to think about color. We can do things now that were simply not possible before – LED has been a game-changer. But, like any new technology, there is a learning curve – processes are different, light behaves differently, and we need to think about color and control in a whole new way. Join us and our resident color expert, Wendy Luedtke, and Eos product manager Nick Gonsman as we talk about all things color. We’ll look at the evolution of LED and luminaire design, how the physics of LED can influence the choices we make as designers and how metamer control gives you a powerful way to manipulate light and color in your designs. Wendy Luedtke Wendy is the Product Technology Specialist for Color at ETC. She is a member of the Color Committee for the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, ESTA-TSP Photometrics Working Group, and United Scenic Artists Local 829. Previously, she was the Product Manager for Color and Lighting at Rosco Laboratories, Inc., an Adjunct Instructor at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Department of Drama, and on the Executive Committee for the CIE-USNC. She holds a BFA in Technical Production from New York University and has more than 15 years of lighting design experience for theater, live entertainment, corporate events, and architectural projects.. Nick Gonsman Nick is the Product Manager for the Eos console family. Prior to that, for the last 13 years, Nick Gonsman has worked for ETC in New York City, where as a Field Project Coordinator, he has developed infrastructures for some of the most notable venues in the world. He has also been a specialist in entertainment control, for which he has directly supported users, created and conducted training and outreach programs, and served on development and steering teams.
