One good reason to constantly scan CraigsList and the Facebook Marketplace is because every now and then, someone will be looking to get some old broken amplifier out of the house for low money. Sometimes for free. "Just take it away" they say. And if you're an amp tech, you could hit lottery on one of these. Which is exactly what happened when I scored this broken Marshall JTM30 for $35, as you will see. Now, one of the issues with this amp is the footswitch that comes with it for switching between the clean and dirty channel (or what Marshall calls the "Boost" channel, at least on this amp). I didn't know exactly how that worked given how it overtakes the function of the pushswitch on the amp's front panel for doing the same thing.
