In Book of Exodus 34, we witness one of the most powerful moments of intercession in Scripture when a mediator stands in the gap. After Israel’s great failure with the golden calf, Moses returns before God not only carrying new stone tablets, but carrying the burden of a people who need mercy. This chapter reveals God's holiness, justice, compassion, covenant renewal, and the power of one person willing to stand before God on behalf of others. A mediator does more than speak he carries responsibility, pleads for mercy, and becomes a bridge between judgment and restoration. Moses becomes a picture of intercession, pointing forward to the greater mediation fulfilled in Jesus Christ. This study explores how God's glory, mercy, covenant, and presence are revealed when someone stands faithfully in the gap.
