I play a piano whose black and white keys represent Darkness and Light. Speaking from my background as a physics and math student, a Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, temporarily covering the Sun. From our perspective on Earth, it appears as though the Sun and Moon (in the form of Light and Darkness) are merging into one. Additionally, the diameter of the Sun is 400 times that of the Moon, and the Sun is also 400 times farther from Earth than the Moon. So, when the Sun, Moon, and Earth line up exactly, it causes a total Solar Eclipse. This piece is about a total Solar Eclipse, a complete fusion of Darkness and Light — two opposites giving up their constant battle and embracing each other. Speaking in terms of our society today, this could be very applicable and necessary. In the videoclip, imagine the black queen as the Moon and the white king as the Sun. They are literally embracing each other, merging into one... into their best and most powerful version.
