Bucketing of cassandra partitions can be crucial for optimizing queries, preventing large partitions or to fight TombstoneOverwhelmingException which can occur when creating too many tombstones. In this talk I want to show how to recognize large partitions during datamodeling. I will also show different strategies we used in our projects to create, use and maintain buckets for our partitions.
