How the National Road Helped Make Springfield, Ohio - Virtual Program

The National Road's arrival in Ohio helped to tie the state economically and politically to the east and it literally tied America's main street with Springfield's Main Street when it arrived in the 1830s. On Wednesday, October 13 at 7pm, the Heritage Center presented a virtual program that looked at the history of the National Road and how it led to the development of "The Town at the End of the Pike" and the rest of Clark County. The program talks about the history of the road, the Madonna of the Trail monument, mile markers and toll houses, the Pennsylvania House, and more.
