Ariel Ramírez (1921 - 2010): Alfonsina y El Mar Bryan Pachacama - Flugelhorn Alex Alarcón - Piano Live recorded at "En Concierto" - Casa del la Música. July 2021. Audiovisual production: FlaminVideo "Alfonsina y el mar" is a zamba composed by Argentine pianist Ariel Ramírez and writer Félix Luna, first published on Mercedes Sosa's 1969 album Mujeres argentinas. The song is a tribute to the Argentine poet Alfonsina Storni, who committed suicide in 1938 in Mar del Plata, jumping into the water from a breakwater, although, according to the song, she slowly went into the sea. This connection has given rise to a widespread but erroneous rumour that the song's lyrics were originally the poet's suicide letter, later set to music by the authors of the zamba. Although Ariel Ramírez did not know the poetess directly, she was a pupil of his father, Zenón Ramírez, who passed on Alfonsina Storni's drama to his son. Bryan Pachacama (2003): he began his musical studies at the age of 5 at SISME (Sistema de Formación Musical de la Brass Band del Ecuador) under the tutelage of his father, Ecuadorian trumpeter Jorge Pachacama. From a very young age he has had the opportunity to be part of several ensembles and has given dozens of concerts in numerous tours in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, the United States of America and the Argentine Republic. He is currently studying his Bachelor in Trumpet with Professor Immanuel Richter at the Lucerne University of Music. Alex Alarcón (1979): Ecuadorian pianist.
