“Once upon a time there was a little engine called Edward. He lived in a Shed with five other engines. They were all bigger than Edward and boasted about it. ‘The Driver won’t choose you again,’ they said. ‘He wants big, strong engines like us.’ Edward had not been out for a long time; he began to feel sad.” Eighty years ago, a legacy started with that opening page. I cannot put into words how much this silly franchise about talking trains means to me, and millions of other people around the world. And with the 80th anniversary here, I had to honour it in some way. So I took a random 80s pop song that I really love, which yes has nothing to do with Thomas or trains, made a music video out of it, and hoped it worked. I hope you enjoy this little music video and I also hope you enjoy whatever you’re doing to celebrate the 80th.
