Will My Night Come Today (Song)

Hello. I shot this footage in 2007 while serving in Baghdad during the Surge, however, I didn’t write the song until 15 years later. This particular footage is from a ground mission we did between Adamiyah district and the Green Zone in Baghdad. I was one of a handful of Australian Army officers serving on an American led training team. Our job was to mentor and develop the Iraqi Army and to bring them into the 21st century. Iraqi’s do things very differently to us Westerners, but they were resourceful, brave and very motivated soldiers…..when they agreed with the mission. If they didn’t agree with the mission, they could be very stubborn. But can’t we all? I’d love to go back and visit these streets. I wonder if their lives improved after all they went through?
