Winter in the Arrochar Alps. Ascent of Ben Vorlich, Loch Lomond. 30.12.25

It was cold and frosty between Christmas and New Year in 2025. On the 30th December I revisited Ben Vorlich next to Loch Lomond which is one of the rugged Arrochar Alps peaks. My last visit was almost 30 years ago. The hike started from Inveruglas and continues along a track to towards Loch Sloy. Then a steep ascent gains ground quickly. The clear conditions meant there was a 360 degree view over the southern Highlands from the summit at 943m.
