A Howlthrough of Final Fantasy II using the restored hack, the hack fixes a lot of bugs like Ultima. also the easiest version to grind stats and weapon levels, would reccommend checking it out. https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5893/ Character Progression/Archetypes: Firion: Twin-Blade Assassin (Dual Daggers/Swords) Weapons: Two Daggers or Two Swords. (Dual Wielding Is Fixed I think) Armor: Light Armor (Cuirasses, Shirts, or Thief's Gauntlets). Keep him out of Heavy Armor so his Agility stays high. Magic Focus: Buffs (Blink and Haste). Strategy: Firion is a pure physical DPS blender. Because he isn't wearing a shield, his evasion will be a little lower, so his first action in any boss fight should be casting Blink on himself to dodge physical attacks, followed by Haste to turn him into a buzzsaw. Maria: The Avatar of Ultima (Bows & Omni-Magic) Weapons: Bows. (Keep her in the back row so she doesn't take melee hits). Armor: Mage Robes (White Robe/Black Robe). Magic Focus: Everything. Strategy: Ultima’s damage is calculated based on the levels of all other spells and weapon skills the caster possesses. The goal with Maria is to teach her a wide variety of spells (Fire, Ice, Bolt, Cure, Esuna, etc.) and level them up evenly. Once I finally acquire Ultima late in the game, she will drop literal nukes on the enemy. Guy: The Dual-Shield Warlock (Two Shields & Black Magic) Weapons: Shield (Left Hand) + Shield (Right Hand). Armor: Standard clothes or Robes. No Heavy Helmets or Gloves (they ruin your magic accuracy). Magic Focus: Black Magic (Toad, Flare, Warp, Drain). Strategy: Guy acts as an unkillable magic tank. He stands in the front row, drawing enemy attacks and dodging almost all of them perfectly because of his massive dual-shield Evasion stat. Because he isn't swinging heavy weapons, his hidden "Magic Penalty" stays at 0%. He will safely cast devastating elemental and status magic from behind his wall of metal. Not the most optimized party but with this hack it allows for more unconventional builds and different play styles, used AI to refine ideas and this is what I'm happy with it.
