One caveat is that I made the novice error of only taking samples from the surface rather than at portions of the whole barrel. I will do a repeat shortly to correct this. The JMS was made following the JADAM formula, using forest duff, from under Mexican White Oak (Quercus polymorpha) from the untraveled deep mountain area, homegrown sweet potato and fresh cut leaves and twigs from an avocado tree and sea salt. Rain water was used. The ambient temperature was around 15.5C (60F) night time and 26C (80F) day time. This study's goal was solely to observe the emergent microorganisms. The efficacy was not tested. Samples were taken every 24 hours starting at 48 hours. They seemed at peak diversity and volume at the 96 hour period. During the process, I observed naked amoebae encysting as the conditions for life deteriorated. Encysting is a process wherein protozoa turn themselves into cysts (like an egg or spore) for long term survival until homeostasis conditions return. At that time, I became curious as to whether they would excyst (again) if I added new stock or provided aeration so proceeded with the additional experimentation. They came close but did not excyst. Following this is the record of 1/ adding to the same liquid/water, fresh forest duff, fresh leaves with twigs but with molasses for feedstock 2/ dropping in an airlift but with no added ingredients.
