Blue City Wailers band Blue City Wailers band at the Carine Tavern Surely unintentional and circumstantial, but to date, I hadn't heard the line-up that is Blue City Wailers, even though I've known Tony Shergold for eons and am FB friends with other members of the band. Brad Wintle, Grant Hills, Robert Morton, Ian Rutter and guest Douglass Jones on Sax. Today it was definitely a Super Sunday Session at The Carine. The Blue City Wailers absolutely served up a blend of driven blues grooves — playing something old, something new, something borrowed and blue. Crowd favourites, and unique takes on contemporary tunes with some Rhythm and Blues that had heads nodding, feet shuffling, and of course us dancing to the groove and a perfect way to wrap up the weekend, also with air conditioning and a solid floor to dance on. The meals were delicious, even though I went straight to dessert: a Creme Brulee that was not too soft, hard, or cold, and Steve's (pictured), which was inclined to droop.
