Recorded Live: IndoSoul by Karthick Iyer performs "Need I Say More." “Karthick Iyer Live!” was back in the Triangle area in 2017 as "IndoSoul by Karthick Iyer" to perform songs from their upcoming new album along with their classical hits. Metronome Studios hosted them at Stewart Theatre in the NC State University campus in association with MAITRI, Indian student organization, on 9th September 2017. About Karthick Iyer: Karthick Iyer has over 20 years of classical Carnatic experience, starting from the age of 8, captivating audiences with his soulful voice and emotion-led violin pieces. His creative fluency and technical assurance erase boundaries and move beyond the confines of individual genres. Seeking to broaden his horizons, he started playing in the Indian film industry, with AR Rahman, Imman, Devi Sri Prasad and other notable music directors. He composed a song for a Bollywood movie along the way, as well as jingles for multiple TV ads. His band, Karthick Iyer Live, is a collaboration of diverse musicians that make contemporary, soulful Indian music which, as Karthick explains, “takes Indian music to the world and brings the world to Indian music.” An electric violin, a mridangam, an acoustic guitar, bass and drums along with vocals form the core of the band.
