#EESC #CivSocWeek #FutureOfEurope Civil Society Week 2026 took place in Brussels, bringing together civil society organisations, policymakers, journalists, youth representatives and activists from across Europe and candidate countries. Organised by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the event addressed key challenges facing the European project, including social and economic inequalities, rapid technological change, geopolitical instability and increasing pressure on democracy and civic space. Participants explored how to strengthen democratic resilience, rebuild trust in institutions and promote inclusion, equality and civic engagement across Europe. The 2026 edition focused on key priorities shaping the future of the European Union: • A Union of opportunities • A Union of security • A Union of resilience Aligned with the European Commission’s priorities: • Supporting people and strengthening our societies • Protecting our democracy and upholding our values • Delivering together and preparing our Union for the future Each day featured high-level debates, participatory sessions and interactive workshops dedicated to these themes.
