Presenting FACT : The Fair API Commitment Terms - Mehdi Medjaoui, ALIAS.dev At ASC2021, we presented a framework we were building for creating a Creative Commons model for API Terms of Service for API ecosystems participates in the creation of open, safe and sustainable digital infrastructure as part of the 1,3M grant for Digital Infrastructure from Ford Foundation/Mozilla/Sloan/Open Society foundations. After 12 months of work and research with API practitioners , consumers and providers we finally got final version called the FACT, as the "Fair API Commitment Terms" In order to scale technical, business and legal interoperability between digital infrastructures as APIs enable, FACT is “Creative Commons” framework for API terms of Service, as a contract to automatically read, control and enforce APIs Terms of service between digital infrastructure and applications. In this talk, we will present the final framework and how as API consumer, Provider you can use it, and how it can be implemented in future OpenAPI Specifications along security.
