This one I wrote for my mother when I was living in the UK. I played it at a concert in Toronto after it was released, and she thanked me for writing it and said she loved it. Two days before my mother died in 2024, I flew back to Canada from Vienna to be there with her during her last days. She hadn't opened her eyes in almost 2 weeks and was very close to leaving us. I took my guitar, sat beside her bed, and started playing this song. She opened her eyes and looked right into mine. She raised her eyebrows as a sign of love. She looked me in the eyes for the full duration of the song. When I finished, she closed her eyes again and sighed. She never opened her eyes again. She died the next morning. It was such a magical moment for me, still brings tears to my eyes when I think about it. I am so extremely grateful to have shared that last connecting time with her. I am missing you. PS. When I sung it to her, I changed the lyric of the chorus from missing you to loving you. I thought it was not the time to sing I was missing her.
