Action Rehab provide assessment and rehabilitation for patients who sustain an injury or are living with an upper limb condition. We are a team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists who specialise in the rehabilitation of the upper limb (hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder). http://actionrehab.com.au/ Transcription: A common hand and wrist related injury following sport is damage to the scapholunate ligament. The scapholunate is the joint between the scaphoid bone, which sits at the base of your wrist here, and the lunate bone, which sits at the base of your wrist here. Traditionally the ligament is C-shaped, so it goes from the underneath side of your hand right the way round to the back, but patients who have this injury quite often complain of pain pointing into this area in the wrist. What we do to try and treat it is we make you a thermoplastic splint to keep it stable for a little while while it heals. Then, following that healing process, we’ll start strengthening you again using isometric exercises, concentric and e-centric strengthening exercises.
