Silk Sirens Tribal at Kaleido Festival in Edmonton, AB, September 15, 2013. "Flight of the Morrigan" by Arcane Dimension - SST Format Improvised Tribal Style "Serpent's Kiss" by Dantavaad - SST Format Improvised Tribal Style "The Grand Bazzar" - Setrak Sarkissian - Choreography by Carla Young http://silksirenstribal.webs.com/ Silk Sirens Tribal is a group of five women who absolutely love dancing together - that's us in a nutshell! As the only tribal style troupe in our hometown of Edmonton, AB to implement a finger cymbal vocabulary over our signature Improvised Tribal Style (ITS) bellydance vocabuary, we have carved out a niche of our own. Much of our movement vocabuary takes inspiration from dancers such as Fatchance Bellydance, Rachel Brice, Tribal Tique, Hahbi' Ru and Jill Parker, but ultimately out focus is on using our own original combinaions. Our dance is a mix of earthiness, modernity, strength, and flirtationsness all rolled together and paired with dynamic finger cymbal work. Silk Sirens Tribal's roots are in classical Raqs Sharki style bellydance, but over the years have combined elements of American Tribal Style (ATS) bellydance, folkloric dance, and modern tribal fusion. Silk Sirens Tribal has performed at numerous fundraisers, haflas, and dance recitals, as well as on the Kaleido Festival main stage, Bellydance Superstars' Club Bellydance, and Cues & Tattos Festival (Seattle, WA).
