Exfoliation is important for pores that get clogged easily, as are deep cleaning essential oils like tea tree to pull out impurities. For sensitive skin, look for ingredients that have a calming effect on irritation, like oats, vanilla, honey, eggs and calamine. It’s important to avoid heavy exfoliation or stimulating oils like ginger, tea tree and witch hazel. Tighten and firm the appearance of fine lines with ingredients like elderflower, witch hazel, fuller’s earth and gingko leaf. Citrus fruits and green tea add a refreshing boost that brightens up dull looking areas. Ingredients to look for in masks: Oats - Oats helps cleanse pores, clearing them of dirt and bacteria that can lead to breakouts. Very soothing to the skin, can help tame conditions that cause inflammation on your face. Honey - contains loads of antioxidants, which your skin needs to fight free radical damage that can lead to aging and skin cancer. Honey also has antiseptic properties that make it great for fighting acne. Aloe Vera - When applied to the skin it combats the pain and suffering from a sunburn, but it is also just relaxing when you don’t have one. Avocado - soaks in and pumps your skin with the moisture it needs to stay fresh and healthy looking. Mint - Mint has antiseptic properties that make it great for a good cleansing facial mask. Using this as an ingredient helps clear pores and leaves your skin with a healthy tingle that feels good and promises to help prevent breakouts and other blemishes. Vitamin E - Vitamin E plays a role in healthy collagen and elastin production in your skin. These are the elements that help keep your skin looking radiant and young. Mud/Clay - Clay and mud help pull impurities from your skin, which eliminates breakouts and improves the overall appearance of your face. It also add moisture to your skin and works for any skin type. Clay or mud also smooths and softens skin, so you really can’t go wrong when you use it. *This video is not sponsored.
