Trachycarpus & Hardy Feather Palm Growth Rates In Our UK Garden

Today's video is a walk around our UK jungle garden looking at the growth rates of some of my cold-hardy palm trees (not technically trees!) after five years in our North Lincolnshire tropical style exotic jungle garden. These palms have endured cooler summers, ice days, winter freezes, frosts, storms and dry summer heatwaves but how well have they grown in our colder climate and shady garden? I discuss the growth rates of Trachycarpus fortunei (Chusan / windmill palms), Butia and Jubaea chilensis cold hardy feather palms, care tips for faster growth and compare real examples of plants which were planted as large specimen palms for instant impact and those which were planted as young plants - the difference is pretty amazing!
