It’s Halloween 2023, where did the year go? Today I’m trying a new soap and aftershave from Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements, The Watcher. This is an homage to Yardley Black Label, a popular aftershave that came out in 1967 but since has been discontinued. This will be available for purchase November 3rd, 2023. Also the new Cyclotrode X Brush, that glows in the dark. I’ll be using a vintage 1969 Gillette Black Beauty (code O2) and Wilkinson Sword Gillette Blade from India in todays shave. Happy Halloween. From there the story sounds very familiar in regard to many vintage splashes of that day; It had a solid 20+ year run and then was discontinued in 1989. A few years later it was revamped and released for the 90's and was finally put to bed for all time in 1998... Until Now! (well kinda) I should also point out our homage is to the Original Yardley Black Label, and not the 90's version. This probably is no surprise to the folks that have been following what we do.
