Video recording taken from a real Commodore 16 using the genuine tape of DT Star Events. As with all my videos no cheating has been used. What you see is the real deal. Version used: Ocean Software Limited release Controls used: C16 Keyboard - Q, Y & SPACE BAR Just a quick upload to co-inside and celebrate the Closing Ceremony of London 2012 which is going on right now. :) Daley Thompson's Star Events was released by Ocean Software for the Commodore 16 & Plus4 in 1985. The game it's self was produced by David Ward with music by Martin Galway. Daley Thompson's Star Events features 7 events. The game was split over two days, but really this was different programs recorded on each side of the tape. On side A, (Day One) the game featured 100 meters, 110 meters Hurdles, 400 meters & 200 meters Hurdles. On side B, the very side were are looking at in the video known as Day Two features Long Jump, Shot-Put and Javelin. As with all track and field games of this type most back in the day were joystick breakers, lucky for us Day Two of DT Star Events did allow the use of keys unlike like Day One which was a bonus as this was the better side of the tape. Of the fans that played this most would of played Day Two more so as it looked more like Daley Thompson's Decathlon on the Commodore 64 with it's advert banners running along side the track. Along with world record tables this side also features high scores allowing added replay valve! Day One which would of been played less was only running events, the high score table removed, Joystick only and the advert banners replaced with a scrolling tree line and was no where near and fun so to snap another joystick, no thanks. ;-) As big as Ocean Software were supporting all machines left right and center back in the 80's, sadly for us Daley Thompson's Star Events was the only release for the Commodore C16 & Plus/4. :( MIK
