Once a free-flowing wind over Earth, as the world grew twisted, horrors began to encroach, and most crucially, humans embraced evil, the energy that was once healthy has become yet another Second Pandora danger. Manifesting as electricity that crashes into the Earth during cosmic thunderstorms that paralyze humans en masse, it is our penance for all the wrongs we have done. These supernatural disasters, which have begun to strike with more and more frequency, leave entire towns filled with hopeless people stuck as statues where they stood. The energy strikes from the sky, speeds through wires, saps humans of life, and dissipates into the Earth, where it is circled back into the air to repeat the process when the next storm occurs. Avoiding these storms is nigh impossible, although surviving one can be done. You must steel yourself, anchor your body to an emotionally significant object, or hold someone who cares for you. And above all else, you must be free of anger, fear, and hate. Karma is only painful if you are deserving of it. If you just feel a small static shock, you have lived. Those who did not make it through the storm are still alive, although unable to do anything until they starve to death. While they may have engaged in misdeeds to deserve karma, it is a horrible fate regardless. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Crying Wire” brings the emotionally strained themes of Chapter 2 to a head with my most melodic track to date. It’s a careful balance of heartbreaking melodies and walls of noise, a tone that feels as despondent as it does hopeful… a real fight for survival. That mix of perseverance and despair is shown in the drops, fusing soaring future bass with heavy neuro trap.
