Maths anxiety can be challenging for many children - and autistic pupils may be particularly affected. In this episode of Autism Unpacked, we explore the link between maths anxiety and autism, how it can present in the classroom and at home, and how parents can support their child with confidence and understanding. We discuss key indicators of maths anxiety, why autistic children may be more at risk, and how difficulties with maths can be linked to anxiety, learning gaps or dyscalculia. The conversation also looks at the impact maths anxiety can have beyond school, including homework stress and exam pressure. This episode shares practical, realistic strategies for parents and educators, including classroom approaches, support at home, exam access arrangements and alternative routes, as well as where parents can seek support for themselves. 🔗 Resource links: British Dyslexia Association – Dyscalculia https://www.bdadyslexia.org.uk/dyscal...
