Thailand's royal defamation law: Democracy back in an uncertain position • FRANCE 24 English

In Thailand, the Constitutional Court has ruled that the country’s leading opposition party – the Move Forward Party, victorious in last May’s elections – has attempted to overthrow the constitutional monarchy by proposing to reform lèse-majesté law, also known as Section 112, the infamous article of the Thai criminal code which imposes heavy penalties against anyone critical of the monarchy.
