In April I went on sabbatical—aka, I did something a little crazy and took the entire month off work (perks of running your own business). Granted, most weeks I’m only physically able to work ~10 hours a week anyway. But still, it was a much-needed disconnect to have a full month with no deadlines, emails, or edits that I had to expend my limited energy on. This month I started writing a new book. I spent time with people I love. I didn’t check my email or make to-do lists for days on end. Instead I read poetry, watched movies, sat outside—gave my brain the space it needed to dream and think and create. My sabbatical refreshed me and reminded me how much I really do love life in general + my life in particular. I tasted and understood the goodness of God in so many new ways. April was a gift. Life is a gift. And I am overwhelmingly and eternally grateful to the Giver. Read a blog post with more reflections on my sabbatical: https://haileyhudson.wordpress.com/20...
