Strength and flexibility in the hips is so important to maintain mobility and to help support a healthy spine, especially as we get older. The major hip flexor muscles that run through the hip joints are critical to maintain balance as they connect the upper part of our skeleton to the lower skeleton. It is when they become inflexible or weak that we find discomfort in the simplest of activities as well as a challenge to do anything that may require balancing. The hips are also a place where we tend to hold our emotions, so if you’ve experienced any kind of trauma or strong emotions in your life, there’s a good chance your hips are bearing the brunt of that. So if you’re ready to open up those hips and to let go of what isn’t good for you AND you’re ready to rebuild your strength from the inside out, then grab your mat and let’s do yoga! ____________________________________________________ Lion Heart Yoga's mission is to share this transformative practice of yoga with people everywhere because with a Courageous Body, Pure Mind and Free Spirit, anything is possible ;-). Subscribe to the channel and become a part of the LHY community...and let's do yoga! __________________________________________________ Yoga includes physical movements as well as an opportunity for relaxation, stress reduction and relief of muscular tension. Asana (yoga posture) means posture easily held. If at any time during the video, you feel discomfort or strain, gently come out of the posture. As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious or disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. If you experience any pain or discomfort, listen to your body and come out of the posture immediately. Yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis or treatment. Yoga is not recommended and is not safe under certain medical conditions. You should consult a physician prior to beginning any activity program, including yoga.
