Ambulance leaving hospital STORYLINE A suicide bomber blew-up among a group of police volunteers in Baghdad on Thursday, killing at least 11 people and wounded 18 others, police said. The injured were taken to the al-Kindi hospital for treatment. Some of the victims' bodies were also seen outside the hospital's mortuary. The attack occurred at 0715 (0415 GMT) near a police academy in eastern Baghdad, authorities said. ''As we were heading to the Police Academy, about ten metres (32 ft) away from a checkpoint near al-Shaab Stadium, the explosion took place." said one of the injured. The bomber was wearing a belt laden with explosives. Two of the dead were policemen. On Wednesday, two suicide car bombings killed at least 19 people in the Iraqi capital.
