Upper Polecat (beginner) to Catnap (intermediate) to Lower Polecat (beginner) to Starycat (map says beginner but the sign says intermediate so...?) is a ski run of varying difficulties located at Wildcat Mountain. The trails run from the summit of the mountain, down to the base area. The run starts out as Upper Polecat, a beginner trail, which begins off to the left when coming off of the Wildcat Express Quad chairlift. The trail starts with a short, flat section, followed by multiple narrow sections followed by wide-open sections. Near the top of the Tomcat Triple chairlift, the trail takes a sharp turn to the skier's right. The trail is pretty windy and is pretty steep in some spots for a beginner trail. Then, instead of heading right onto Middle Polecat, I kept going straight onto Cat Nap, an intermediate trail. It is narrow and has a few sharp turns. The trail then merges onto Lower Polecat, which runs straight back towards the base area. I then took Straycat, which exits off to the skier's right of Lower Polecat. The trail is labeled as a beginner trail on the trail map, but an intermediate trail by the sign on the mountain, so take that however you want, harder green maybe? It is narrow with some turns, but for the most part, is pretty straight and just runs to the base area. Wildcat Mountain Resort is a ski area located in Pinkham's Grant, New Hampshire, located in between the towns of Jackson and Gorham. The mountain is known for being located directly across from Mount Washington, the tallest mountain in the Northeastern US, providing amazing views. The ski area is also known for its long groomers and plentiful ungroomed and steep trails. With just over 2,000 feet of vertical, Wildcat is the second tallest ski area in New Hampshire after Cannon. Even though the ski area is located right in the heart of the White Mountain Nation Forest, it is still extremely accessible, being located right off of NH Route 16. During the summer of 2019, the ski area was purchased by Vail Resorts from Peak Resorts, which resulted in Wildcat joining the Epic Pass. The ski area is sister resorts with Attitash, which is located just 20 min down the road. Both ski areas share the same tickets, so one can ski both ski areas on the same day (currently not the case due to COVID). In the summer, Wildcat is home to disc golf, a zip-line, and scenic gondola rides.
