Here is a short and simple tutorial with some editing tips and tricks on different tools you can use in Photoshop to recover lost shadow details and bring up dark areas of your photo. So if you want to know how to lift shadows in Photoshop or how to bring back detail in Photoshop then keep watching! If you'd like to join my Creative Photography Membership and do creative shoots with me and get access to lots of tutorials, join our family here: https://www.thefairytalecreator.com/T... This is a common problem for me in editing as I add a lot of contrast in my images and I've always been a fan of dark blacks and shadows. Sometimes I take it too far though and begin to lose my details in my shadow and dark areas. I then need to find ways to bring the lost detail back. There are various tools you can use when editing your photos in Photoshop, but in this video I show some of my favourites for lifting dark areas of a photo. This tools include working with curves, levels, blending modes and selective colour. These tools can certainly also be used for many other purposes, so see how they work and then have a play and see what else you can do with them all! My favourite tool at the moment is definitely selective colour as in my view it gives such a natural result and it is easy to build further layers if you need to make the effect stronger. In this video, I've assumed you have a basic knowledge of using masks, but if you have any questions about that, or anything else in the video, do drop them in the comments or message me on Instagram at @rrphotographic / rrphotographic If there are any particular things you would like a tutorial on, do also let me know!
