4K Journey Through Coastal Rainforest of Goldstream Provincial Park

This was labeled as an "Easy" hike through Goldstream Provincial Park in Victoria on Vancouver Island, however, having done this hike now, choosing it because it was deemed easy, I now know it is more like moderate-hard, especially if you are out of shape, or have ANY mobility issues (like bad knees). This stunning scenery will take your breath away (literally if you are hiking it!). Its lush rainforest surroundings and trickling creeks is out of this world. Looks almost as if it was the set for Jurassic Park! I was out of breath, going up and down steep grades, some that were smooth with nothing but dirt to slide down on (nothing for traction except the tread on your shoes, which I had none!) or it was clambering over jutting rocks and twisting tree roots, and climbing over fallen trees... I also had to stop a couple times to not only catch my breath, but look around at my surroundings and make sure I was not near any bear or cougar, as this is prime bear and cougar country, and I did it in prime time of the season to happen upon them. You almost want to be looking up as much as youre looking around, to make sure you're not surprised by a cougar! I hope you follow along on your treadmill.
