The incident is known as the Purulia Arms Shower incident in Indian history. That night, a large quantity of firearms was dropped from an aircraft in the Jhalda police station area of Purulia. The CBI was tasked to investigate the incident. Investigation revealed that a religious organization named Anand Marga was involved in the case. The main accused in this incident is a resident of Denmark named Kim Peter Davy.
