A day Photographing Fieldfares

Fieldfares are winter visiting thrushes that come to the U.K. in large numbers each winter. They feed on our hedgerow berries and turn to apples when these run out and there is snow on the floor. I spend a day trying to photograph them at one or my favourite locations in the Midlands, but the light is not really suitable, so I turn to getting shots of them drinking in a large puddle. They frequently drink along with the other winter thrush, the Redwing. I use the OM-1 camera with the 150-400mm lens, usually with the built in 1.25x extender and make use of the car as a hide to get close.
