Sisanda Henna is an award-winning South African actor, director and producer. He's worked on large scale productions such as Trackers (M-Net, Cinemax, ZDF), Agent (Netflix), Rhythm City (ETV), Tsha Tsha (SABC 1) and many many other projects and in various roles. In this last episode of the first season of THIS IS HOW series, he shares how it all began and his inspirational message on how to thrive during the most difficult times. THIS IS HOW is an ambitious short online documentary series with a singular goal of inspiring hope during COVID-19 pandemic. To do this, we have asked nine of South Africa’s top rising and established artists if there are any similarities between an artist’s journey to success and the current social and economic climate as commanded by COVID-19. And over a period of nine weeks, each artist will share their journey from their humble beginnings to what they have achieved so far in order to answer that question. Why? Because if they once made it during the worst times of their lives, so can we all. The creative industry and so many other industries around the world have been hit hard by lockdown and COVID-19, leaving many in hopeless and dire situations. Our response as the creative industry is to offer a message of hope and to encourage South Africans to think positive, take risks, try something new, search for opportunities, stay safe and to never give up on their dreams. Just as a journey of an artist to success is full of sacrifices, risks, difficult moments, the same can be said during this time - but there's always light at the end of the tunnel. This project is made possible by the generous support of and in partnership with the Department of Sports, Arts & Culture South Africa.
