In October of 2014, at a time where the Jovi world was in pieces for basically all of us and no one (not even Jon as he admitted later on) knew whether there was gonna be a future, a few close Bon Jovi friends and I headed to a little club in Bochum. There, the band Bounce had announced that they were gonna do a show with an orchestra and none of us in the audience knew what to expect. What followed was an experience that really restored my faith in the band's music and was just the breath of fresh air all of us had so desperately needed. To go a bit into the background of the show: For one year, Olli (lead singer) and Jojo (keyboard player) had rearranged twenty band songs on their own to fit with a big orchestra. Since this wasn't on a professional level in terms of weeks of rehearsals leading up the show, the orchestra sound was simulated technically so that each band member and each orchestra member could practice their parts separately. The band's and orchestra's touring schedules as well as day jobs meant that rehearsals in persons were only done in the two nights leading up the show. That, combined with the fact that they had to set the entire show up on their own meant two things: Olli's voice had almost gone to hell due to the sheer excitement of the experience at the two nights of rehearsals but that only meant that some notes were a bit rougher, he went for it anway. Furthermore, the band members partially entered the stage without having slept for 24 hours or more and Jay (guitar player) told us afterwards that they basically emptied cans of coffee and other energy drinks right before the show just to able to still stand on the stage. For us in the crowd, we didn't know of any of that and didn't notice it either. All members barely fit onto the stage and the crowd area also was pretty crammed. But hearing some of your favourite songs in a completely different way really made that night special and, out of all three orchestra shows the band played, this still is my second favourite! Three of us were standing in front of the stage and always handed a digital photo camera on after one song so that each only had to film 33% of the show. Another friend was recording the audio behind us. For some time, a scaled-down DVD rip was on this channel, but with the original camera sound. Recently, we found that the HD files with 50fps were still around and I remastered both this and the audio recording, dubbed it to the video and filled some missing parts with picture so that all songs are fully intact. Some talking inbetween as well as the encore break has been edited out for obvious reasons. The fact that these videos were recorded by us means that you'll more or less enjoy the show from the view we did about eight years ago. Setlist: 01. One Wild Night [0:00] 02.
