The UK hit version of Althea & Donna's 1978 chart-topper. Written and performed by teenage duo, Althea Forrest and Donna Reid for noted Jamaican producer Joe Gibbs in 1977, this eminently catchy reggae side first entered the British Top 50 on Christmas Eve of that year, making its way up to the top spot six weeks later. The pair had previously recorded the song for Ian and Roger Lewis's Top Ranking label, but after it failed to garner much interest, they recut the number for Gibbs over a rhythm track originally created for Marcia Aitken's popular version of the Alton Ellis rock steady favourite, I'm So In Love With You'. The rhythm was also utilised by DJ Trinity for his popular 'Three Piece Suit And Thing'; but it was Althea & Donna's version that primarily caught the attention of British listeners, with the duo's single spending a total of 11 weeks in the upper echelons of the UK chart.
