Bronco Raptor on Rubicon Trail - Wentworth Springs - May 11, 2025

Day trip on the Rubicon to the intertie starting from Wentworth Springs CG. Trail was definitely tough in spots even taking a couple bypasses. We did the granite knob and Lower Post Pile, skipped Upper Post Pile and went part way up the Hidden Sluice, which we could have/shoukd have completed. But we didn’t. I made up for it by mistakenly dropping down a 4’ to 5’ ledge on the way down from the intertie. Stock half way, I had to improvise to get myself off my belly, get my rear end down the drop and the squeeze out between two huge boulders. I did it unscathed! I’d put the parts we did (without the drop) comparable to Deer Valley south side. Not an easy trail (for me). When we went to air up, my buddy found he smashed his valve stem beyond repair along the way. Pulled out my X-Jack for a field test and we were pretty quickly on our way. Great day, fantastic weather, amazing scenery and all by ourselves
