It is done as an outpatient procedure. This is done for people who feel their lips are to big with respect to their face. The Lip Reduction procedure is done from a part that is not visible on the face, that is on the inside of the lips where there is a lip seal. A small wedge of tissue including the mucosa is removed and the while margins are sutured. This is done with absorbable stitch. The lip will swell up initially after surgery. After the surgery they will feel the lip will swell up, but this will come down.
