North Carolina Wildlife Federation hosts an in-depth presentation on the history of the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, how it is managed and how you can enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife of the region. Katerina Ramos is the North Carolina Wildlife Federation’s (NCWF’s) new Refuge Program and Volunteer Coordinator who works in conjunction with the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) under a memorandum of understanding between NCWF and USFWS. Her position is focused on increasing volunteer engagement and developing education programs at the refuge. She spent an internship with the refuge complex working with the red wolf recovery program and has since been passionate in spreading the information about conservation and the benefits of National Wildlife Refuges. She joined back on the team recently and is excited to speak about the history of pocosin lakes, how it is managed, and how you can enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife of the region. #nationalwildliferufuge #wildlife #conservation #northcarolina
