Greetings! Today I am tackling chicken and pastry. In the south this is called chicken and pastry, everywhere else I think it would be called chicken and noodles or chicken and dumplings. No matter what you call it, you should call it delicious! My girls have been enjoying this meal for the last few years made by our neighbor. They would have this when spending the night with their friend. They would tell me how good it was and that I needed to learn how to make it. Well today is the day! You can make your own "pastry" or noodles but I am going by Leanna's recipe today and she uses these frozen pastry strips made by "Annes" In my area and I believe in most of the south, you can find them in the freezer section of most grocery stores. Don't despair, if you don't find them in your area of the country because you can go to their website and buy them by the case! These pastry strips are good for more than chicken and pastry and I intend to explore every single use for them! This is a lovely dish with a creamy broth and big chunks of chicken along with those broad noodles. This is the definition of comfort food! Soon the weather will be turning cooler and making us think of wonderful stews and soups. This one will be on our list of favorites from here on out! I hope you try this and I hope you enjoy it!
