I have always wondered if heat exchangers on cooking pots were actually worth it? I won't judge yet as there are lots of other systems to test. So Let's do a "Cook pot heat exchanger review - Are they worth it?" We have an old MSR heat exchanger that came with a stove my wife bought about 20 years ago. I have always wondered if it was worth carrying on a trip. I also have a Primus Eta Express pot with an integrated heat exchanger that came with a stove I bought about 10 years ago. That is a lot of time wondering if these are worth it. Time to do a boil test! The MSR website says that the heat exchanger will provide 25% efficiency. That isn't what I found. The Eta Express does show some promise but when you consider the extra weight, it is clear that there is no advantage to either system. I question if any heat exchanger is really worth it. Note: I said the MSR heat exchanger is made of copper. It is actually made of brass. My Amazon Stores USA https://www.amazon.com/shop/kevinoutd...
