A replacement will be named in due course, Cricket South Africa confirmed. South Africa Probable XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Tony de Zorzi, Matthew Breetzke (c), Luhan-dre Pretorius, Donovan Ferreira, Corbin Bosch, George Linde, Bjorn Fortuin, Nandre Burger, Ottneil Baartman/Lizaad Williams, Lungi Ngidi Pakistan Probable XI: Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Salman Ali Agha, Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Nawaz, Hussain Talat/Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi (c), Naseem Shah, Abrar Ahmed Preview by Ajay Pal Singh After a hard-fought 2-1 series win in the T20Is, Pakistan now shift their focus to the ODIs as they prepare to host South Africa for a three-match series. All three games will be played at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, with the first match scheduled for Tuesday (November 4), marking the return of international cricket to the city after 17 years. The game of musical chairs with Pakistan’s captaincy continues, as a new leader takes charge once again. Shaheen Shah Afridi replaces Mohammad Rizwan and will lead the hosts against South Africa. Rizwan had guided Pakistan to series wins in Australia and South Africa last year, but a group-stage exit in the home Champions Trophy, followed by 0-3 series defeats in New Zealand and in West Indies, led to his removal from the role. Haseebullah Khan and Faisal Akram return to the squad after a year, while Haris Rauf — who missed the last series against West Indies — is also back in the ODI setup. The batting group remains largely unchanged, with Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, and Babar Azam forming a formidable top three for the hosts. Hasan Nawaz, who has made a promising start to his ODI career, is expected to slot into the middle order alongside former skipper Mohammad Rizwan.
