Watch this intense bodycam footage from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) as officers respond to a Categorical Use of Force incident involving a suspect arrested for felony DUI. On March 1, 2024, around 4:00 p.m., Central Traffic Division (CTD) officers were called to the scene of a traffic collision at North Alameda Street and the 101 Freeway, where suspect Brian Goldberg was involved in a DUI crash. Goldberg sustained facial and head injuries during the collision and was transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) personnel for medical treatment. While being escorted down the hospital hallway, Goldberg became aggressive, attempting to get off the gurney and becoming combative with officers. Despite verbal commands, Goldberg refused to comply and even attempted to bite the officers. This led to a Categorical Use of Force, where one officer placed his hand against Goldberg’s throat and later around his neck to control the situation. No additional injuries were sustained by Goldberg or the officers during this incident. The LAPD Force Investigation Division (FID) is conducting a thorough investigation into the use of force. This video provides a transparent look into the challenges officers face while handling uncooperative suspects in high-pressure situations. Viewer discretion is advised due to the sensitive nature of the incident. #LAPD #BodycamFootage #UseOfForce #DUIArrest #FelonyDUI #CategoricalUseOfForce #LosAngelesPolice #PoliceInvestigation #OfficerSafety #PoliceTransparency #PublicSafety #DUICrash #ForceInvestigation #HospitalIncident #CrimeInLA #ViewerDiscretionAdvised
