In this video, I will be breaking down how to plan your new life traveling full time. I’ve been living on the road for a year and a half while working, and I’ve learned quite a bit in the experience. I found finding a balance between travel and work to be really overwhelming at first, so I am going to try and make it more approachable. I came up with 3 “S”s that you need to consider as you plan your trip. The “S”s are: (1) Scale (2) Setup (3) Schedule For each of these topics, I’ll share stories and examples from my own job and travels. I will also give you a list of questions for each section that you should be able to answer for yourself before you set off on your adventures. We will also touch on finances and budgeting for travel since that is inevitably intertwined with the role your job plays in your life. Under scale we will talk about things like: how to budget the 24hrs you have each day? Can you afford to work part time while traveling? Do you plan to take money from savings to do this? Can you use time off to make this work? Under setup we will discuss: How to pack your home office up? How is it different working in a home office vs. working on the road? What are travel essentials vs. what can you leave behind? Under schedule: How to create your schedule working remotely? I willl share how I think about most jobs as breaking down into 3 types of tasks: time rigid, time fluid and time flexible tasks and how you can use thinking about things this way to make your schedule work for you.
