Fresno County leaders, Reedley city officials, and community partners gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Reedley Library — a project years in the making and deeply rooted in the community’s vision. Prominent leaders attended this historic moment, highlighting the library’s long legacy and the bright future ahead for Reedley families, including Supervisors Buddy Mendes (District 4), Brian Pacheco (District 1), and Nathan Magsig (District 5), CAO Paul Nerland, Deputy CAO Samantha Buck, County Librarian Sally Gomez, Reedley Mayor Matthew Tuttle and councilmembers, City Manager Nicole Zieba, members of the Friends of the Library, Harris Construction and Darden Architects, among many others. A special thank you to our Public Works and Planning Director Steve White, Assistant Director Bernard Jimenez, and their staff, along with those from the CAO office, Library, and County Counsel, for their hard work and dedication in bringing this vision to life. We deeply appreciate the Friends of the Library and community members who’ve all contributed to making today’s celebration a reality. At nearly 14,000 sq. ft., the new Reedley Library will be more than double the size of the current branch, offering: ✔️ An engaging children’s area ✔️ A multi-use community room ✔️ A study room for students & small groups ✔️ Comfortable spaces to read, learn, and connect Since 1907, Reedley has cherished its library — and today, we turn the page to a new chapter that will serve generations to come. Look for future updates on the construction and grand opening.
