Whatifalthist is a self-styled historian, political analyst and an aspiring thought leader whose entire approach to history revolves around vibes. He says he loves history, but what he loves is narrative and the vibes he gets from the narratives he enjoys. He has a deep distaste for every aspect that characterizes history as an academic field of study. He wants to tell you a cool story, one that fits neatly within his worldview, and he wants you to think he's cool for having come up with such a good story. It doesn't matter if it's all based on lies or half-truths, so long as you like it. -- Bibliography: Historiography: John Lewis Gaddis, Landscape of History (2002).
